The Muthoot Group through its association with Save the Children has facilitated improvement in the quality of education in primary schools managed by East Delhi Municipal Corporation and  supported the national objective of universal enrollment and retention.
At least 130 teachers are trained in an inclusive learning environment with innovative teaching methods, and 192 school management committee members in 12 schools and 10,008 children are impacted through the project. An enrollment drive was also organised as part of the project. The drive reached 11 communities and covered approximately 70,000 households in Delhi. The Group’s efforts in this direction have further led to a 50% increase in the number of children washing hands before eating midday meals and after using toilets. Children have also been observed to carry paper soaps to school. These efforts have also resulted in an increased emphasis on safe drinking water and clean toilets by various school principals.
