Most of the children who study in Government Schools are from the economically deprived sections of the community. The training facilities in these schools are limited and many times children struggle to score a pass mark. There is very little motivation for them to excel in studies. Taking in to consideration these facts, Muthoot M.George Foundation has established Excellence Awards which comprise a certificate and cash prize of Rs.2500. These awards are given to the toppers of 200 Government Schools from 7 educational districts (Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam, Alleppey, Trichur, Calicut). A prize distribution ceremony is held at all these centers and the students, their parents and the headmasters are extremely happy about it.

Apart from these Government School awards, Excellence awards are also given to the best students of Department of Commerce, St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry. Awards are also given to the toppers of Infant Jesus Anglo Indian School, Thangassery.
