Muthoot Finance distributes tarpaulin sheets to flood affected farmers in Thiruvarur

As part of disaster response activity, Muthoot Finance has provided 151 tarpaulin sheets to flood affected farmer families of Thiruthuraipoondi in Thiruvarur. The marginalized farmer communities of the region were residing in thatched huts and the unprecedented rains threatened to create seepages in their huts. Muthoot Finance’s timely CSR intervention has saved the habitats of 151 families in the area.

Shri. Marimuthu – MLA, Thiruthuraipoondi distributed the tarpaulin to farmers in the presence of Smt. Kavitha – Municipal Chairman, Thiruthuraipoondi; Shri. Pandian – Councillor; Shri. Selvaganapathy – District Coordinator, District Disaster Management and Smt. Malarkodi – Tahsildar. Shri. Jeyaprakash – Former Municipal Chairman, Shri. Chinnayan – Village President; Shri. S. Jayakumar – CSR Manager; Shri. Sugumaran – CBM; Shri. Vinoth – Marketing Manager; Shri. Senthil Kumar – Palam NGO; native farmers and other general public were present during the event.

Earlier last month, various regions of Tamil Nadu received heavy rainfall paving way to severe waterlogging. The farmer community of Thiruthuraipoondi who were deprived of concrete homes were facing immediate threat from the rains. Company’s quick CSR intervention has managed these families to stay resilient against the rains.
