As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Muthoot Finance successfully completed and handed over the renovation of two classrooms, the corridor area, and the toilet roof at Gandhabaduli Abjakhali Free Primary School, Amtalla, South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India under the Howrah Region on 19th March 2026.
The initiative was formally inaugurated by Mr. Chitresh Bhattacharya, CSR Manager – East, in the presence of Mr. Kinkar Das, Admin Executive, and Mr. Tamal Pramanik, JRE, Amtalla Branch and School teachers.
The school had suffered severe infrastructural damage due to the devastating impact of Super Cyclone Amphan, which left the classrooms, roofing, and corridor areas in a dilapidated condition. As a result, nearly 250 primary students faced extreme difficulties in attending classes during harsh weather conditions, including summer heat, monsoon rains, and winter cold, significantly affecting their regular attendance.
With the completion of the renovation work, the school now offers a safe, comfortable, and conducive learning environment. This has enabled students to resume their education without disruption and has brought immense relief and happiness to teachers, parents, and the local community. The majority of the students belong to economically weaker sections, making this intervention especially impactful.
Muthoot Finance continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing young talent and strengthening the foundation of education through meaningful CSR initiatives. Such efforts play a vital role in improving school infrastructure, enhancing attendance, and ensuring a secure learning environment for children.
The School Head teachers expressed gratitude for this noble initiative.
