As part of its commitment to sustainable rural development, Muthoot Finance, in association with the Govardhan Rural Development Programme, established a Vermicompost Shed at Dolhari Bk Village, Vikramgad, Maharashtra. The project was inaugurated on 8 May 2026 to encourage organic farming and strengthen the livelihoods of rural farming communities.
The project provides dedicated infrastructure for year-round vermicompost production using agricultural waste and cow dung. Along with the shed, farmers receive training, technical guidance on organic farming practices, and support through a Self Help Group (SHG) to ensure sustainable operations.
With a CSR investment of ₹5.56 lakh, the initiative is expected to directly benefit 10–15 farmers and produce approximately 60 tonnes of organic compost annually, helping improve soil fertility, reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers, and create additional income opportunities.
Through initiatives like this, Muthoot Finance continues to promote environmentally responsible agriculture, empower rural communities, and contribute to long-term sustainable development.
